The Children's Hearing System deals with Children's Referrals. The idea behind the system is to help children and families and provide them with any supports they may need. The process is usually triggered by the Social Work Department who contact the Children's Reporter regarding a child or family, that they believe have a problem and need help. This can be a child they believe is not being properly cared for, who is not attending school or who may have committed a crime.
It is important that both parents and children obtain representation both for Children's panel and the Sheriff Court.
